Unit 1: Introduction to Honors Physics
     Honors Physics is an algebra-based introductory course in physics presented at the high school honors track level. It is designed for highly motivated high school students with strong mathematical skills and a keen interest in the physical sciences. The course provides an in-depth exploration of fundamental physics concepts, emphasizing both theoretical understanding and practical application. Students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and scientific inquiry methods through a combination of video lectures, problem-solving, laboratory experiments, and assessments.

     In unit 1 you will discover what is expected of you as a physics student and develop skills that will be used throughout the course. The methods of analysis you learn will be crucial for your success in this course. So, work through the items in the workflow on the left one at a time, making sure to fully understand the ideas expressed and the applications. 

     Taking notes on the lectures in this course is a crucial learning activity. If you don't take notes, you will do poorly on the assessments. That is a simple fact! Please have a notebook and several colored pens in hand as we begin to investigate the world around us!
