Virtual Activity: Static Charge

     In this activity you will control static charges to observe the fundamental behaviors they exhibit. The first simulation will show the action of charges on a balloon and the second will show the charging and discharging of a person after he rubs his foot on a carpet. Please take some time to manipulate the controls in the first simulation to investigate the phenomenon of static charge.
     As with all activities and labs, take notes regarding what you find. Record questions that you may have, and attempt to find answers based on your observations. Record your observations in your lab notebook for future reference. Return to this page after you complete both activities and then view the video below to hear more about static electricity.
